Granted, I usually ask someone else to use their hands and feet while I am doing something else to accomplish surrmountable odds! But still I'm (we are) getting stuff done!
Today while doing the dishes, I asked my six year old to go through the house and pick up any trash that might be laying around. He sluggishly walks through the house in complete misery. He finishes and confronts me in the kitchen. "Mom, why do you always ask me to do stuff?"
He looked at me like I was crazy. "Picking up trash isn't using super powers."
"Sure it is.", I replied.
"Remember on Spiderman when he picks up eggs for his Aunt May in the movie?"
"Yes. He also takes out the trash every night by himself!", he exclaimed.
"That's right.", I said proudly.
"You see, Superheroes are simply people who help others. You don't have to fly or shoot webs from your wrists. You can be a hero without all of that stuff!"
Later on, we were cleaning again. I heard Aiden say, "Isaac, when we help mommy with the cleaning and doing what she says, we are superheroes!"
I couldn't be more proud of how that went down!
