Inevitable Change: Finding Your Joy

"When I said, 'My foot is slipping', your unfailing love, Lord supported me.  When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me JOY.  The Lord has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge."
           - Psalm 94:18,19, & 22

My last baby... My little boy...

I hold him tight these days.
Tears fill my eyes to think he may soon be crawling out of his crib, running down the hall, and learning to open doors.

Mother's Day has passed...and honestly I am glad. It is such a bittersweet day...a day where my three blessings fill an emptiness and give me a reason to celebrate when I want to grieve.

Yesterday (Mother's Day) is a blur.  I kept my mind busy as I worked around the house.  My stomach tied in knots because I didn't know whether to laugh because of the joy my children bring, or cry because my mother is not here to celebrate with me.

These days are just too short.  Just on the underside of being 30, I find myself with a new perspective.  Instead of counting my losses, I am counting my JOYS.

Change is inevitable.

I grew up hating change,
because I thought change brought loss.
But change is a necessity.

Change keeps us dreaming.  It keeps us moving forward.
Circumstances shove us into a reality we don't want to embrace.

But then CHANGE rescues us and helps us to breath again
as we look up to an open sky.

Thank you Lord for the change you have brought into my life; the ways you provide when there is no hope in sight.  You reach out to me when I feel I am traveling in circles.  You bring change and restore what has been broken.  You breath your life into me through the blessings in my life, and I praise you for you are good always.

"You turned my mourning into dancing.  You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with JOY!"

                                                                              -Psalm 30:11
