Over thinking To Overcoming

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord.
"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Isaiah 55:8-9

It's confession time!

So, here goes.  I am an over thinker.  I think things through until they are a mess in my mind.

Over thinking is a really frustrating way to live.  Take it from me.
The bazar part is, I am not really an organized person and I do not plan ahead much.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I also worry about everything.

I worry about whether my house is clean enough.

I worry about my kids.  I worry about my husband.

But the Bible says that worry doesn't add a single day to your life.  In fact, I it robs you.  It robs you of joy.  It robs you of peace.  It is destructive.  It destroys you from the inside out.

Matthew 6:25-34

[ Do Not Worry ] “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? ..

I know this.

But yet, it is still my biggest issue.  I have learned to trust the Lord over the years.  But the struggle is getting my mind and body to line up with what is in my heart.

I have gotten to the place where I can lay my burdens down at His feet, and walk away.  But my flesh still wants to look back and even run over to make sure He is doing something about it.  But is that really trust?  No, it isn't.The only time my trust in Him has had any fruit in my life, is when I trust Him completely and let go.By completely letting go, I give Him room to work.  If I constantly keep sticking my hands in it, there will only be a bigger mess.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
