Teaching Tool: Safari Craft
Today we went to the library and gathered books on all of the topics we are covering in Science. We picked up books on magnets, simple machines, animals (carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores), outer space, and much more! Today we talked about the animals in the jungle and went on a safari by reading books about the wild Bengal Tiger and how they are going extinct. We discussed the importance of tourists who just come to enjoy the habitat of the tigers by "observing" where and how they live. We talked about how poachers are causing these beautiful animals to go extinct. We were sad to hear that the extinction of these beautiful animals is closer than we thought. Our literature said the Bengal Tiger would most likely be completely extinct by the year 2020.
