I have everything I need to get this job done. I have my scissors in hand, and my flash cards are organized and ready to be stored. I have almost finished preparing my lesson for next week when a speedy crawler joins me and scoots past my legs to grab a piece of my hard work and chew on it for a while.
Another creative little boy sits down in front of me and lays down on the cold, hard floor. He is making his own "Valentine" for a special friend. When I look up from what I'm doing I see I may have almost missed something beautiful. He has carefully chosen his friend's favorite color and drawn her wearing a ninja headband. She has more fingers on her hand than humanly possible, but still...there's some resemblance as her headband swims in the wind.
I sit back and put my agenda aside. What could be more important than capturing this moment. This is rare that my four year old wants to make words on his own. I help him spell out his message and he carefully writes his best. He is determined to make it perfect. He goes on to press on Disney stickers and color a dozen hearts all over it. It's beautiful, and these are the moments I live for.

I found your blog through the Five MInute Friday link up. Lovely words and a beautiful header!
