I trust in you Lord and I give you this day.
I place my hope in you. Please make this mess of a flesh somewhat beautiful in your sight as you purify me with fire. I don't like the fire, in fact, I complain. But have your way in my life. I long to please you and I crave your affirmation, father. Help me out of this vicious cycle of selfish ambition and materialism. Let my thoughts line up with your Word, and my actions to steady themselves on the rock of my salvation. Turn my mourning into joy. Strengthen me for the weight of this world, and empower me to accomplish all that needs my attention. I love you and praise you, Lord.
For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. (Romans 7:19)
"When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity. Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death. The righteousness of the blameless makes their paths straight, but the wicked are brought down by their own wickedness. The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires. Hopes placed in mortals die with them; all the promise of their power comes to nothing. The righteous person is rescued from trouble, and it falls on the wicked instead. With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors, but through knowledge the righteous escape. When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy. Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed. Truly the righteous attain life, but whoever pursues evil finds death. The Lord detests those whose hearts are perverse, but he delights in those whose ways are blameless." (Proverbs 11:2-11, 19, 20)
Seems that the Lord is very much so taking us down the same path, sweet sister of mine. Keep on truckin. He is still faithful. He is still good.
