Many people ask me how I homeschool with a toddler.  Well, I just do.  This is kind of how...

Not all days are the same, but most of them follow the same routine. I get the kids up at 7:30 and they get ready for the day by doing their Daily 5 (make their bed, brush their hair, brush their teeth, get dressed, and eat breakfast).  It doesn't always come easy for them, but they love having the free time in the morning before school starts at 9:00, so they usually rush to get those things done.  That may sound leisurely to many, but my day starts earlier and I like to knock some to do's off my list before the calling and tugging starts to weigh on me at all.

Something I have noticed that helps my littlest man is spending some one on one time with him before we start our school day.  This small window of dedicated time with my 2 1/2 year old really makes a difference in my day. I soak him up in the mornings before he realizes he's 2 1/2 and begins his normal shenaniganz.  ;)

When we start school I have to keep little man entertained while teaching multiplication facts and giving spelling tests, but having a toy box and not trying to clean during school hours makes for less stress.

There are many times I tell my oldest they get free time when they are done with an assignment.  It keeps them motivated and gives them more energy after having fresh air to finish out the day.

We all work together to finish assignments.  It's really just family time, and at the end of the day we all do chores and their day is complete.

If you homeschool with a toddler what tips do you have?
