"There's no sweet tea, mom?"
Those are the types of things we are hearing around our house this week. My husband and I are revamping the nutrition of our home. It's something we have wanted to do for a year or so now, and haven't really known how to go about it or where to start. Its just easier to shop for what is easiest, eat it and go on, right?
Yes! That is true.
Let me tell you. He and I are both on a training program to fitness and clean eating. The hard part is...I am the shopper! I am the menu planner! I am the cook! I am the mom!
But with my husband's help, and the help of his generous mother I am looking at actually going to the gym a few times a week with no children in tow. That in itself is a miracle.
As far as the food goes. Well, let me tell you that I have never exhausted a checker at the grocery store before. My buggy overflowed with real and fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean meats. She had to key it ALL in. She took a deep breath when it was all over and I looked at her and laughed. "You did it!", I replied.
I am not out to make myself look like a super model, but I am out to make myself healthy.
My family history has some pretty scary diagnosis's. I aim to increase my time, and live a healthier life while I am here.
Some funny things I heard this week were:
"You're going to the gym, mom?"
Isaac could not believe his ears. "You are going to be skinny now!", he exclaims.
